If your back tells you the time, this is for you.

Desk work shortens the front of your hips and switches off the muscles that hold you upright. A reformer loads exactly those muscles while your spine stays long, which is why physiotherapists send people to one.

No jumping, no loading through the knee, nothing to brace against.

Footwork on Carriage: the muscle groups it loads

What footwork loads

  • QuadricepsEvery press out is controlled, not thrown.
  • Glutes and hamstringsLoaded through the full range, nothing landing on the knee.
  • CoreHolds the spine still while the legs do the work.

The other five movements bring in the upper back, shoulders and arms.

Out of the box to moving.

  • Unfold Along the centre hinge, until it clicks flat. No tools, no bolts.
  • Clip the bands Two carabiners, four anchor points. One band each side to start, both when that stops costing you anything.
  • Open the guide Twenty four exercises, photographed, in the order to learn them.

Six movements. The first one on day one.

You are not lifting weight. You are working against a cord that pulls back the whole way.

stays put this part moves

The deck runs on sealed rails. The bar does not move.

The carabiners and anchor points are made of heavy-duty metal. No stretching or loosening even under maximum resistance.

Perfect solution for compact apartments. When folded, it fits right into the narrow gap next to my wardrobe. A bit heavy, but expected given how solid it is.

Incredibly compact footprint when folded up. Without a doubt the smartest Pilates investment if you're short on floor space.

Carriage folded and being slid under a sofa

The ones that matter.

I have never done Pilates. Is this the wrong place to start?

No. The printed guide starts with five exercises and asks you to stay on them for two weeks. Everything after that assumes you did. If you have an injury or you are pregnant, ask your physiotherapist or doctor first. We are not qualified to answer that for you.

I already go to a studio. Do I need this?

Probably not, if you love it and you go three times a week. Keep going. This is for the sessions you were never going to drive to.

Is this the same as a studio reformer?

It is not, and we will not pretend otherwise. A studio reformer is 90 kg of wood and springs, with a sliding platform that travels under your whole body. Ours gives you the resistance work and the spinal alignment on a fixed deck instead. It is the honest eighty per cent, at home, in a fraction of the room.

Will my downstairs neighbour hear it?

The wheels are nylon and run inside a closed rail, so there is no spring noise and no metal contact. On a carpet or a mat you will hear your own breathing before you hear the equipment.

Do I have to pay for an app?

There is no app and no subscription. The guide is printed, it is in the box, and it is yours.

What if I do not get on with it?

Send it back within a hundred and twenty days and we refund you in full. Use it in the meantime. A reformer you were too careful to try tells you nothing.

How do I look after it?

Wipe the deck with a damp cloth. Keep the bands out of direct sun and away from radiators, because latex hardens with heat. Replace a band if you see surface cracking, and we sell them singly.

Twenty minutes. Most days.

Free delivery, 120 day returns, two year warranty on the frame.
